The Advanced Diploma of Business is a one-year qualification for people who want a practical grounding in how organisations run. You study the areas that show up in almost every business role: managing finances, leading teams, developing marketing plans, managing risk, and writing business documents that actually get used. Assessment is competency-based, which means you are judged on whether you can do the task to workplace standard, not on where you rank against your classmates.
Advanced diplomas sit at Level 6 on the Australian Qualifications Framework, one step below a bachelor degree and one above a diploma. Delivery at Warwick Institute of Australia is over one year. Institutions of this kind typically run two or three study periods across the year, and you enrol in units of study that each carry credit points. Core units cover the fundamentals; elective units let you lean towards an area such as marketing, human resources or operations. Confirm the exact unit list and study periods on the official page, because providers vary.
By the end you should be able to put together a budget, read a set of financial statements, manage a project through to completion, brief and supervise staff, and prepare a business case for a decision-maker. You also practise the less glamorous skills that employers notice: running a meeting, giving feedback, keeping records straight, and meeting compliance obligations. Group work and simulated workplace tasks are common, and some providers arrange work-integrated learning or a placement with a host organisation. Ask the institute directly whether placement is included in your course.
This course fits three groups well. School leavers who want a shorter, job-focused qualification before deciding on a degree. People already working in administration, retail or hospitality who want formal recognition of what they do and a path into a supervisory role. And international students who want an Australian qualification with a clear vocational outcome. If you are an international applicant, you will need to meet the institute's English requirement, IELTS Academic 6.0–6.5 overall is the usual coursework standard, and separately meet the Department of Home Affairs threshold for the Student visa. While studying, a student visa generally allows 48 hours of work per fortnight. Graduates may be eligible for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) post-study work stream, depending on the visa rules that apply at the time. Tuition is published on the CRICOS register; check the official course page for current fees, intake dates and entry requirements.
These roles exist in every Australian industry, with the heaviest demand in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the regional centres around them. Many graduates use the qualification as a stepping stone into a bachelor degree, with credit for units already completed.
It typically takes 1 year, with intakes in Semester 1 (Feb/Mar), Semester 2 (Jul).
Tuition is around A$15,000 total. Fees change yearly, confirm with an advisor.

Student Visa Student Visa Subclass 500 Refusals: The Reasons That Come Up Most
Most subclass 500 refusals trace back to four things: the Genuine Student requirement, funds evidence, course-progression logic, or an incomplete CoE. Here's what each one actually means and how to fix it before you apply.
