Diploma in Social Sciences

The Diploma in Social Sciences at the University of the Sunshine Coast is a one-year qualification for students who want a grounding in how societies work — how people behave in groups, how policy gets made, how communities change. It also works as a standalone credential for people already working in community services, local government or youth work who want formal recognition of their knowledge. If you are an international student, you can work up to 48 hours per fortnight while your course is in session, and you may be eligible for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) after you finish, depending on your circumstances. English requirements for international applicants are IELTS Academic 6.0–6.5 overall for this level of study, or an accepted equivalent.
